Church Values

The values of BOLD Church® are an extension of its purpose and mission. It is how the Church operates daily to achieve the purpose and mission given by God.

Church Value: Love

In order to build strong leaders, the people in the church have to grow spiritually and prosper in the things of God. A Christian’s first show of discipleship to Christ is his or her relationship to others. The Bible says how can we say we love God whom we have not seen if we cannot love the people we see every day.

Therefore, throughout BOLD Church®, the statement “LOVING GOD and LOVING PEOPLE” is displayed.

Jesus Christ Himself said in John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

The one distinguishing and outstanding factor in Christians should be that they love one another. It is the mission of BOLD Church® to produce Christians that love the people in their family and the people in their church family!!

If we, as Christians, don’t love at home but we love at church, we are missing the mark. If we, as Christians, love at home but we don’t love at church, we are missing the mark. If we, as Christians, don’t love at work and everywhere we go, we are missing the mark.

The call in BOLD Church® is to produce Christians who will NOT walk beneath the standard to love all people as Jesus Christ loved.

Therefore Mark 12:30-31 is on every cup, banner and card that is created for the Church.

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

If, as Christians, we love God with all of our heart, then we should also love His people as a demonstration of the love we have for Him. After all, LOVE NEVER FAILS and it is LOVE THAT COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS.

Church Value: Prayer

Second to the call to love is the call to prayer. Heavy emphasis is placed on every believer to establish their own prayer life. It is the experience of the Pastors that a quality prayer life with some degree of consistency changes a believer’s life. It gives peace, promotes hope, and increases strength.

Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

Prayer teaches one to put all trust and hope in the Lord and be blessed for it!

Introductory prayer classes are taught for people who have never been taught to pray. One might say, “how do you teach a person to pray? I thought prayer just came from your heart.” However, the disciples asked the Lord to teach them to pray! Prayer is so much easier and more gratifying when one learns some of the methods of prayer.

Throughout the Church, there are prayer lines, all night prayer, prayer watches, and other spirit led corporate moves of prayer to promote, advocate and encourage praying at all times.

Church Value: Worship

Worship is far more than just corporate church services when the worship song is played and people fall down to honor God.

Worship is what believers were created for and what God deserves. Because of the constraints of normal service, believers cannot always give God the worship He deserves. Commonly in churches all over, people come to church needing to get some relief from their troubles and to get answers for their problems so the worship that God deserves does not flow as it should in corporate service.
Therefore, mornings are set aside at BOLD so one can come out early just to worship God in the manner that He deserves. Those times are usually set at 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. They are scheduled for one hour and are opened to everyone. During this time love, appreciation and admiration for God is expressed to him forgetting about any problems, desires or personal needs.

Church Value: Giving

Churches have gained such a bad reputation when it comes to money that many churches either talk about money too much or not at all! God created tithing as a principle for blessing His people. He expressly asks for the first 10% of earnings to be holy and appointed unto Him. Ten percent was the minimal amount. People argue that tithing went away with the Old Covenant but giving did not pass away with it! In fact, the New Testament believers sold what they had and gave ALL their possessions to the church! In light of that fact, most would prefer to give the tenth instead of all that is possessed.

Tithing is God’s way of supporting His church and blessing His people at the same time. The tithe teaches one to honor God with their substance. When that is done, He honors them with increase. Tithing is both an act of faith and obedience to God and it is therefore taught and expected in BOLD Church®. It is also proven by many believers that God not only increases what they have when tithes are paid but He protects what they have also.

Offerings are what are given above the tithe. Many churches have different offerings outside of the tithe but in place at BOLD Church® is Kingdom Planting. Kingdom Planting is the seed that members are asked to sow monthly to support the building of the new church and to plant other churches. It is for a far greater work than building one church. It is for the purpose of building the Kingdom of God.

Just as it is each believer’s responsibility to sow, it is also the church’s responsibility to sow. BOLD Church® supports other churches with seed offerings as well as gives to a church in Liberia, Africa to help further the cause of the Gospel for that region. The money is used to help the poor and to educate the children and keep that church opened in an area where the people have little to nothing to give.
